Jessika Forster

Jessika Forster is a multidisciplinary artist born in Montreal, Quebec. She attended Champlain College Saint-Lambert receiving a DEC in Digital Arts and New Media, and went on to graduate from the Computation Arts program at Concordia University as a specialization in December 2024. Her passion for the arts began when she was 13 years old as she found an interest in video art and began self-teaching Final Cut Pro and After Effects. She shared her videos on social media for individuals with similar interests to appreciate and gained nearly 50 thousand followers across all platforms. This led her to begin taking video editing seriously by making it the center of her studies after high school.
Throughout her studies, Jessika has developed an interest in many other art forms such as sound design, animation, illustration, and more. She gravitates towards expressing herself through video art, but enjoys incorporating a variety of methods to draw her audience in and leave them reflecting on the piece, even long after viewing it. She executes this by using her skills in project planning, filming, and video editing in order to bring her ideas to life. These skills came through in her video piece titled ‘Escape’ made in fall 2023. The piece encapsulates the delicate balance between online and real-world experiences, resonating with the universal struggle of seeking solace in a digital age. She is currently working as a video editor at bowes media inc. and hopes to bring her work to the big screens in the future.
